DESCRIPTION:Our brains consume around 20 Watts of power\, a negligible amount in comparison to the multi-million Watts consumed by supercomputers. The emerging paradigm of Neuromorphic Computing draws inspiration from the structure and functioning of the human brain\, particularly this small power consumption and extremely fast response times. \nJoin theoretical and computational physicist Johan Mentink as he presents evidence of why the neuromorphic computing paradigms offer not only much more energy-efficient but also much faster solutions to widely used computational science problems\, with the potential to break existing computational barriers.
